PEANUT BUTTER BANANA QUESADILLAS

I love single-serving desserts. They’re usually simple and quick and provide me with only the right amount of sweetness to quell cravings without having leftovers staring me down throughout the week. This Peanut Butter Banana quesadilla is among my favorite single-serving solutions because they’re warm, gooey, and delicious. …And I typically have the ingredients at hand!

And P.S. The word”quesadilla” is literally in this instance. There’s not a cheese component in the delicious dessert “quesadilla.”

WHAT’S IN A PEANUT BUTTER BANANA QUESADILLA?

The bananas and peanut butter naturally; however, there’s also an extra sprinkle of chocolate chips inside, which melt and are delicious while the quesadilla cooks on the stove! The bananas get a little soft and sweet and are then complemented by the salty peanut butter and the crispy tortilla. It’s truly delicious.

WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD?

This easy dessert is adaptable, as you can imagine. Here are a few other options you could include in the “quesadilla” if you have the ingredients in your pantry:

Coconut shreds

Butterscotch chips

Jams made with strawberry and raspberry

Mini marshmallows

Cinnamon

Honey (in place of chocolate chips)

Peanut butter (in place of peanut butter)

Ground flaxseed

INGREDIENTS

One 8-inch flour tortilla ($0.30)

Two tablespoons peanut butter ($0.14)

Half medium-sized banana cut in half ($0.11)

One tablespoon chocolate chip ($0.10)

INSTRUCTIONS

Sprinkle the peanut butter all over the tortilla’s surface.

Slice the banana thinly and then place the slices on top of half the tortilla. Place the choc chips on the other portion of the tortilla. Close the tortilla by folding it with the banana and chocolate.

Make the quesadilla in a pan over low heat until it’s golden brown and crisp on both sides. The banana and chocolate pieces are melted inside.
